Partners In Pease Park, in coordination with the Austin Parks Foundation, Run Tex, The Old Enfield Neighborhood Association and Austin Parks & Recreation is sponsoring the 1st annualized race to benefit Pease Park on Saturday, April 22, 2000. The event is scheduled to begin at the Pease Park Playscape at 8am. 5K RACE ROUTE DESCRIPTION The planned race route begins at the Pease Park Playscape area and proceeds north on the trail to Gaston Avenue. At Gaston Avenue runners will turn left and proceed up Gaston to Wooldridge.At Wooldridge they will travel west to Harris Boulevard toward Windsor Road. At Windsor Road runners will briefly travel west with a left onto Woodlawn Boulevard. Runners will follow along Woodlawn Boulevard to a left onto Watchhill Road. Runners will proceed along Watchhill Road to Pease Road, at which intersection they will be directed right onto Pease Road, paying homage to the Pease Mansion. At the intersection of Pease and Niles they will be directed left onto Niles Road. At the intersection of Niles Road and Windsor Road, runners will turn left onto Windsor Road with a quick right down the hill onto Rainbow Bend. Runners will then be directed right on to Parkway Road at the bottom of Rainbow Bend and will proceed back to the finish at the Playscape. REGISTRATION: Register @ RunTex or complete and return signed entry form w/ $15.00 entry fee to: Partners In Pease Park c/o Austin Parks Foundation 2112 Rio Grande Austin, Texas 78705 RACE PACKET PICK UP: including number and t shirt, will take place the day of the race beginning @ 7:00 am. Waiver Form (must be signed and submitted w/ entry) In consideration of this entry, I hereby release the City of Austin, the sponsors and officials of this race and any and all groups, people and facilities connected w/ the 1st Annual Pease Park 5K Run for any and all injuries incurred to me or any acts or omissions by any organization , firm or individual that take place at said race. I further certify that I am physically fit to participate in this run. I hereby grant full permission to any and all of the foregoing to use any photographs, videotape, motion pictures, and recordings or any record of this event. |
