THE RACE

The RunTex 30K (18.6 miles) is race #5 in the RunTex Distance Challenge. The RunTex Distance Challenge is a series of 7 races leading up to and including the Motorola Marathon on February 20, 2000. The 30K will be run in North Hays County, starting and ending at Jack C. Hays High School. All proceeds from the race will benefit the Jack C. Hays High School class of 2000 "Project Graduation", a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. The course will be run on Hays County roads starting at Shelton Stadium on the Hays High School campus. The course will be open for 4 hours. The County Sheriff will close the course at 12 noon. Participants must maintain a 12:50 pace. NO WALKERS.

REGISTRATION

Drop off completed entry forms with payment at either RunTex location: 422 W. Riverside Dr.,
or 9607 Research Blvd. #140.

AWARDS

All finishers will receive a long sleeved race shirt and a finisher's medal. The top 5 male and female finishers, top masters, big runners, and age group division winners will have their names published. There will be NO awards ceremony.

DIRECTIONS

Hays H.S. is located approx. 10 miles south of Austin on Jack C. Hays Trail (FM 2770), between Buda and Kyle. Off of IH-35 take the Buda exit, #221. Drive west on Loop 4 for approximately 2 miles to Buda. Take a right on FM 2770 for approximately 3 miles to Hays H.S.

Your weight might be verified at Packet Pick-up.

SUPPORT

There will be water every 2 miles. Porta-cans will be available. There will be an EMS crew at the start/finish. Obey the Deputies on duty and stay within the cones! The race will finish on the track at Shelton stadium, located on the Hays H.S. campus. Food and beverages will be provided.

VOLUNTEERS

All volunteers should show up at 7:00 a.m. on race day at Hays H.S., rain or shine! Students, community service hours can be earned.
