Question: I am training for a 5K run for about weeks now (about 4 days a week). I have a cramp in my calf muscle. I am not a professional runner. I have run 5Ks in the past. I do stretching exercises before runs, but very generally irregularly at running. I can do a 5K in 25 minutes and my best was 19 minutes during college days (15 yrs ago). I have 10 more days for the race. I rested for 2 days and on the 3rd day I find the cramp still very much there when I run. I am not sure if I should rest or resume training. Please help.

Answer: That's probably not a cramp - maybe more like a mild strain? Or slight tendonitis?
