Question: I am physically fit but have taken up running in the last 8 weeks. I have new Brooks shoes. After most runs my Achilles tendon is really tight and a bit sore. What could this be attributed to?

Answer: Answer: Start by alternating ice and warm water soaks for your Achilles. 10 minutes ice, 10 minutes soak. Since you are new to the sport, you may need to try a few different types of shoes before you find the best one for you to help resolve the Achilles soreness. It may be a different Brooks model, or perhaps another brand will fill the bill. Ideally, you should visit RunTex, and get one of their specialists to help fit you for the right shoe. I am confident that will solve the problem.
